Westgate Foundation Patron scheme

A very big thank you to the businesses and individuals who have so generously supported our Westgate Foundation Patron scheme over the last 4 years.
Your generosity and support has been hugely helpful to us in generating the funding needed to run our services.
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we had to suspend our Patron Scheme early in 2019. We hope however to resume the scheme when it becomes safe to open up all of our services again. The on-going support and goodwill that our Patrons have shown towards our work means so much. We are thinking of you all and hope that you are staying safe and finding ways of meeting the many challenges that Covid 19 is bringing to lives and livelihoods. Stay safe everyone and stay hopeful for better times to come.
Below are the Patrons from 2018 and 2019.

A hugh thank to all of our Westgate Staff for preparing and delivering Christmas gifts to our Clients and Members this week. The appreciation and joy from our clients and members was the most enjoyable experience we had in a long time. Thank you all so much.

All at Westgate Foundation wish to express our huge and heartfelt thanks to Ronan, Tom Butler and all at Ballincollig Scouts for the incredible generosity they have shown to older people in our community this Christmas. Today Ronan and two young scouts, Ryan and Jamie came to Westgate to deliver a bus load of the most beautifully wrapped gifts to be delivered on Friday to our Meals on Wheels clients. It means so much that young people and their families care so much about older people in our community and these gifts will bring a lot of joy to a lot of people. Thank you all SO much? ??

Music in the garden to brighten the Day for Westgate Daycare Clients

On Monday September 28th musicians from Music in the Community (MIC) partnered with Staff of Westgate Foundation to bring wonderful music to clients’ homes. Five wonderfully talented musicians Majella Cullagh, Adrian, Joe, Keeva and Aoifa travelled to the home of three of our clients to entertain them with music and song. Mary Donnelly and Orlagh Greene from Westgate Daycare Centre went along also to see our much missed clients and to ensure that all social distancing and safety measures were in place to make it a safe event for everyone. Our clients expressed great appreciation for the visit and it brought a much needed lift to everyone’s spirits after the many months of being confined to home and not being able to attend our Daycare Centre. We hope that this will be the first of many more Music in the Garden visits to our clients.

We’re proud and delighted to share that on Saturday, fourth of July, having been absent for far too long, music returned to Westgate.
After months of quiet and challenging circumstances, our residents came to their front doors to enjoy a socially distanced, outdoor concert, on a beautiful summer evening by Westgate Musicians Charlies Ward, Tommy Holmes, Kevin McSweeney, Tony Naughton and John Touhy.
