We’re proud and delighted to share that on Saturday, fourth of July, having been absent for far too long, music returned to Westgate.
After months of quiet and challenging circumstances, our residents came to their front doors to enjoy a socially distanced, outdoor concert, on a beautiful summer evening by Westgate Musicians Charlies Ward, Tommy Holmes, Kevin McSweeney, Tony Naughton and John Touhy.
Our musicians Charlie Ward, Tommy Holmes, Kevin McSweeney, and John Touhy gave charming renditions of everything from the sixties’ hit Quando Quando Quando to Julie Andrews’ Do Re Mi. Thank you all.
As you know we have the initiative the ” Blankets of Hope”, where we hand out handmade blankets to those on the journey with cancer to let them know we care and we are here for them.
S…o we decided that as we had amazing support with stunning blankets being made by our volunteers over this Pandemic , a lot of which were lap blankets, that we would reach out and pass on our volunteers kindness .
So today I met with Julie Murphy CEO of Westgate Foundation, and handed over 43 blankets, which will be given to their day care clients as well as those receiving meals on wheels in the local area.
To say they were over the moon would be an understatement.
So thank you to our amazing volunteers for making this possible for us to extend your kindness to others.
