Community Employment Supervisor Job Vacancy

Westgate Foundation is a community based organisation providing a range of integrated community based services to older people living in Ballincollig and surrounding areas. Our core services include
Daycare, Community Catering, Transport, Social and Active Retirement Group and a Sheltered Housing Facility.
Westgate Foundation is the sponsor group of an in-house CE scheme that provides CE placement opportunities in a number of areas including Healthcare, Driving, Maintenance, Catering, Accounts, Reception, Cleaning and Hygiene, Sanitising and General Operative roles.
The role of the CE supervisor is as follows:
To supervise, coordinate and administer the in-house CE Scheme at Westgate Foundation,
Ballincollig as per guidelines set down by the DSP.
To maintain computerised bookkeeping and record systems, including payroll, PRSI and revenue returns.
To provide development and training opportunities for 35 CE participants.
To ensure all CE scheme books are prepared annually for audit purposes.
To undertake on-going supervision and support to participants in relation to the CE requirements of their placement roles and to support participants to access further employment and development opportunities.
To engage as appropriate to the role, and as directed by senior management and sponsor group, with the Westgate staff team and Board of management of the sponsor organisation.
To report on a monthly basis to the CE Sponsor Committee of Westgate Foundation.
Qualifications: Major Award at 3rd level (NFQ Level 6 or higher) preferably in at least one of the following areas: Business/Financial Administration, Adult Education/Training, HR or related disciplines.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a supervisory and training
capacity is essential. Previous experience of supporting unemployed individuals to secure employment is an advantage. All other relevant duties as required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in business/financial administration, personnel management
and sourcing training to meet individual learner needs as these are core requirements of the post.
Skills Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills: IT proficiency and experience in Word, Excel and Payroll Software; Ability to maintain computerised book-keeping systems; Management, supervisory and data management skills. Garda Vetting will be required.

Salary: DSP CE Supervisor Rates: (Point 1 on the scale)
Number of positions: 1
Contract Type; Annual renewal of contract subject to DSP funding and approval. A 6 month probationary period will apply which may be extended to 9 months as deemed necessary.
